De son vrai nom Ville Virtanen, Darude est un producteur et DJ finlandais, réputé pour sa musique dance (EDM – electronic dance music). L’artiste finlandais démarre la musique en 1995 et sort son hit Sandstorm en 1999. Il lance son premier album studio Before the Storm en septembre 2000 et en vend plus de 800 000 exemplaires. Il a joué dans des centaines de clubs et festivals à travers le monde et a sorti quatre albums studio, dont le dernier Moments en 2015.
En janvier 2019, la chaîne de télévision finlandaise a annoncé que Darude représenterait la Finande à Tel Aviv en mai prochain. Le public et un jury international auront choisiront quant à eux le titre qui sera envoyé. Trois chansons ont ainsi été révélées : Release Me, Superman et enfin Look Away. Au terme de la finale du UMK 2019, c’est finalement la troisième proposition qui a été plébiscitée. Le DJ interprètera ce morceau avec le chanteur vedette Sebastian Rejman, connu pour être membre du groupe The Giant Leap.
