Stefan représentera donc l’Estonie à Turin ! Le jeune artiste a en effet gagné la finale du Eesti Laul, pour sa 4ème participation (2018, 2019, 2020 et 2022), avec le titre Hope. À noter qu’il a remporté 62 % du vote du public !
Stefan est né au sud de l’Estonie de parents arméniens. Il commence à chanter dès son plus jeune âge et participe à de nombreux concours de chant (et en remporte plusieurs). En 2020, Stefan a remporté la première édition du Mask Singer estonien.

L’Estonie participe au Concours Eurovision depuis 1994, et l’a remporté à une reprise, en 2001, avec la chanson Everybody, interprétée par Tanel Padar, Dave Benton et le groupe 2XL. Le pays devint ainsi la première ex-république soviétique à décrocher le grand prix. Depuis 1994, l’Estonie a manqué une seule édition du concours : en 1995. Le pays fut alors relégué, à la suite des résultats obtenus l’année précédente. Depuis l’instauration des demi-finales, en 2004, l’Estonie a participé à 7 finales du concours.
