Sans surprise, le célèbre groupe de Rock finlandais The Rasmus a remporté son ticket pour l’Eurovision lors de la finale du Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, avec son titre Jezebel. «Jezebel était une fauteuse de troubles biblique, qui faisait les choses à sa manière et bouger les lignes. Nous voulions lui faire découvrir le monde d’aujourd’hui. La chanson est aussi un peu ironique, ce qui est assez inhabituel pour The Rasmus» peut-on ligne sur le site officiel de l’Eurovision. Selon le groupe, son titre est «pour toutes les femmes fortes et indépendantes qui tracent leur propre chemin».
Connu depuis près de 30 ans, The Rasmus est l’un des groupes finlandais les plus couronnés de succès à l’international. Leur plus grand hit est In the Shadows, sorti en 2003 (déjà !). Ils ont depuis sorti plusieurs albums, gagné de nombreux prix et joué dans le monde entier.
Le groupe est composé de 4 membres : Lauri Ylönen à la voix, Eero Heinonen à la basse, Aki Hakala à la batterie, et Emilia à la guitare (depuis 2022).
